❄️ Freezethawed: The Newsletter #010 - Nirvar - man proposes, god disposes
Hello!
It has been quite a week here with the Nirvar cyclone hitting Pondicherry. A section 144 (lockdown) was imposed by the government for the two days of the predicted cyclone and life came to a standstill. Thankfully, there has been no lasting damage.
Cyclones around the winter months are apparently a staple according to the natives here. They expect one every year now, which they are adequately prepared for. However, it was quite an experience for me to watch the sunny Pondicherry weather to turn gloomy and ghastly for two straight days.
Below are some photos taken of a crop field right outside my room, which turned into a lake owing to the torrential rainfall we received.
Also, this week I wrote about Doctors For A Cause, the NGO my friends and I founded a couple of years back and which since then has grown into one of the largest medical student based NGO’s in India!
Read on below.
Until next time,
Anujeet.
